Dr. Erica Liu was my doctor for my Smile procedure. I was a little apprehensive with getting the surgery on my eyes as I would have to be awake throughout the whole process, but Dr. Erica Liu made the experience very comfortable.

She allowed me to pick some preferred music to help put me at ease. She talked to me throughout the process and guided me step by step so I would be aware of everything that was happening to me. The whole thing took about 15 minutes and I am very happy with the results.

I have already suggested another family member go to her for the same procedure and they loved the experience as well.

I had LASIK with Dr. Liu over 3 years ago and it has been life changing! She talked me through the entire procedure and made sure I felt comfortable. It’s been amazing to rock climb, camp and travel without having to deal with the hassle of contacts, solution and glasses!

If I can only choose one surgeon to do surgery on my eyes and even for my family members, it will be Dr. Liu. She is honest, skilled, compassionate, and very thorough with her work. She is committed to deliver the best service and care to her patients and wants nothing more but to make sure her patient is happy with the result.

I had the honor of working with her before deciding to do SMILE in 2020. She stood out amongst other surgeons as someone who will always try to do right by her patients and always put in the extra time and effort to make sure all concerns have been addressed before surgery.

If you are looking for a skilled, trustworthy surgeon for your surgery, she is it. I've been very happy and satisfied with my SMILE procedure with her and so are my friends! Cannot recommend her enough!

She has developed a system so that patient concerns are addressed right off the bat, then she performs her assessment and does a summary with the patient before the end of the appt. At that time she asks again if any questions are still outstanding. It's this attitude that shows that she values her time as well as the patient's time.

I had smile procedure done on 4/19 performed by Dr. Liu. The whole experience from consultation, eye exams, procedure and the follow up went great. All staffs were very nice and making sure the clients are comfortable with each steps. I was nervous right before the procedure but it turned out smoothly following by Dr. Liu's guidance.

They strongly advised me to wait and come back over a few months to check the stability of my eyesight and to accurately figure out the deal with my case.

I'm extremely glad I followed their advice as the procedure ended up improving my vision to the point that it surpassed my vision with glasses on. Every time I interacted with them, I felt like they cared for doing the best job possible.

My eyesight has been awful for almost my entire life. I was on the fence about corrective eye surgery, but when I finally decided to take the leap, I found Dr. Liu online and I am so glad that I did. She made everything so easy every step of the way.

The initial consultation was amazing. She contacted me immediately after I submitted my request for information online (yes, it was Dr. Liu herself and not a robo-call!) It was easy to book my consultation appointment and she explained everything about my ICL procedure and answered all the questions that I had. Katie at the front desk was so kind and easy to work with as we navigated setting appointments and discussing the financial part of the surgery.

In the days leading up to surgery, Dr. Liu was available to answer any questions that I had. I received several informative emails from the office to help prep me for what to expect. The surgical procedure itself and the experience was painless (both literally and figuratively). In keeping with the theme, Dr. Liu was available for questions during the recovery period and Katie was great as we scheduled my follow up appointments.

And now, I’m typing this message with no glasses or contacts and I am so happy and thankful to Dr. Liu and her team for making this possible. If you’re considering ICL or LASIK, do it! And for a wonderful experience, choose Dr. Liu and her team.

Incredible experience from start to finish

I had an excellent experience at Beach Cities. They got me in right away, I had a smooth and easy onboarding experience, my appointment was right on time, and Dr. Liu took her time during my appointment and provided a very thorough screening and analysis. She explained things clearly and I felt understood and heard during my appointment.

Though I’m not a candidate for any procedures, I appreciate that Dr. Liu was honest and recommended some other paths to pursue to resolve my vision problems. And, the facilities are beautiful, clean, and state-of-the-art. I highly recommend Dr. Liu and Beach Cities.

I have had an excellent experience with Dr. Liu and her staff. I am a year out from my vision correction procedure and the results have been terrific. I just got back from snorkeling in Hawaii with no glasses, no contacts, and haven't even really had to think about my eyes since I had my procedure which is amazing as I had previously worn contacts for many years. From the beginning, Dr. Liu took lots of time up front to explain all available options and answer all my questions.

This was an area where I definitely wanted to make sure I was working with an industry leader and an expert. I'm someone who tends to do a lot of research and ask a lot of questions.  Beyond Dr. Liu having the answers to all my questions (which she did), what I appreciated most was that it was obvious she genuinely enjoyed answering them and talking about her work. She has that confident assurance that you want from your eye surgeon and is clearly passionate about her patients and the results she is able to achieve to help them achieve. Would recommend anyone who is even considering vision correction to talk with her.

I am two years out from my SMILE procedure. I had a lower nearsighted prescription. From day 1 after the procedure, I was able to do most things, even comfortable enough to go back to work. I was very comfortable speaking with Dr. Liu about all my concerns. She answered all my questions calmly and confidently. I was put to ease the day of surgery as well when she checked in on me before the procedure. I work in the industry but still got nervous when it came to my own eyes. Two years out and my eyes are doing great!

Dr. Erica Liu is a very trustworthy and genuine person. She has given me medical advice for several years now, and I always leave feeling that she genuinely cares. She has the philosophy that she wants each of her patients to truly understand and feel comfortable with any procedures before proceeding - she is also very thorough. Very happy to have met her.

I got the EVO ICL procedure done by Dr. Erica Liu. Dr. Liu took time to meet me at my pre-op appointment to explain the procedure and answer questions. She had a calmness that put me at ease and I knew immediately I was in great hands. As expected, Dr. Liu and her team were phenomenal on surgery day. She walked me through the procedure again before we started, including reminding me of the few "uncomfortable" parts so there'd be no surprises. She also provided gentle assurance as she was operating to let me know everything was going smoothly (a small gesture that made a big difference for my nerves as I was laying there). Overall, the procedure was quick and painless as promised.

It's been a day since the surgery and I tested at 20/15 vision. It's supposed to get even better as my eyes fully heal (WOW?!). Truly amazing and worth the investment.

From the first consultation to the final procedure, all of the staff was super accommodating and friendly which made me very comfortable. Everyone was very honest and were super easy to talk too.

Dr. Liu performed my procedure, and she discussed the whole process along with side effects, risks, and comforted any qualms I had. She is EXTREMELY friendly and skilled, so I would 1000% recommend her to anyone considering getting Lasik.

The procedure itself is intimidating since there are instruments going into your eyes, but Dr. Liu talked me through it the entire time and ensured that I was comfortable.

I had the smile surgery just about a month ago. I had my original consultation in Riverside and was scheduled for surgery in the City or Industry. I was very nervous because my husband wasn't allowed to come inside with me due to COVID-19 but honestly they were really great at explaining everything. I was put in a room where the doctor (Dr. Erica Liu) went over things with me over video chat again due to COVID-19. Dr. Liu asked me if I had a preference of music playing in the background and I chose Christian worship which allowed me to feel calm and it set the atmosphere of peace in the room. She spoke to me throughout the procedure and explained everything that was going to happen next. The only complain I have is that I didn't get it done sooner.

So I wanted to have my first review of 2020 be for the business who blessed me with 20/20...

It's been about 6 months since I've had my SMILE procedure done with Dr. Liu, who is SO sweet and put me at ease during the procedure. However, the excellent service starts way before then, when you go in for your consultation. Everyone is very professional and efficient. Normally, I am used to waiting at doctor's offices. Not here! If you are there early, they'll often call you in immediately. All the techs are friendly too.

The procedure itself was very quick. It was probably about 10 minutes! There is soothing music in the background, and Dr. Liu coached me through the whole thing. It felt kind of weird, but nothing was painful. After being driven home, I just had to keep my eyes closed for the rest of the day and was back to normal the next morning.

Here I am, 6 months and a few follow-up appointments later. My vision has been perfect, and I just have to put eyedrops in occasionally when I feel dry eyed. I have no regrets, and this was definitely worth every penny.
